Don't give up already!

OK, I didn't forget about you, I have just been my usual self in the fact that I look around, get overwhelmed by the amount of STUFF I have to do and then just sit and sulk. Do you know the feeling? So, what is the solution?

For me...I ate chocolate! I did, and it definitely helped me to get in a better mood. I was able to proceed to doing some CHORES. Ugh! That word in itself is enough to give anyone a headache. Right? I know my kids would definitely agree.

So, today I thought I would try to get back to getting things in order. No more sulking, no more excuses!!! Since I haven't posted in a few days, I do have to say that I have been trying to get myself on some type of schedule which is very difficult when everyone's schedules keep changing! But, I have been able to get some things accomplished in spite of it all.

Yesterday I ended up waking up at 2 am. Yup you read that right. 2 am which normally wouldn't be so bad if I went to bed at a decent hour in the first place. Unfortunately for me, that was not the case. I was running the day on about 3-4 hours of sleep. Surprisingly though, I got pretty much accomplished. I went through my bookshelf and decided to get rid of all the books that I had more than one copy of. Some went to a friend, the others are posted on www.paperbackswap.com. If you've never heard of it, check it out. (Although, as my husband pointed out, this doesn't really help us to thin out our collection as it just allows us to "swap" books). But hey, it's a start to at least letting them go.  Over 20 books! That's pretty good right? Wrong, when you consider we have over 2000 books in our home. Sigh! One step at a time.

This morning I decided to go through my closet. I found a few items for Winter that I no longer wear. They will be given away. It is my goal to take all the Spring and Summer items and pack them away so I have more space in my closet to see what I actually have. Come Spring, I'll get them back out and go through them too.

Have you wanted to give up? DON'T! Eat some chocolate if you have to and jump back in!
